The 8th edition of TIMTED is coming up and we couldn’t be more excited to bring together some of the best minds in the field to exchange ideas and share their latest research.

Malin Song

Anhui University of Finance and Economics, China

Song Malin is a Professor and PhD supervisor at Anhui University of Finance and Economics, where he also serves as Vice President. His primary research focuses on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and environmental economic statistics, particularly achieving substantial results in environmental efficiency evaluation methods and applications. He has led over 30 major research projects, including key projects funded by the Ministry of Education for philosophical and social science research, major projects of the National Social Science Foundation of China, and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published more than 300 papers in internationally renowned journals such as Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Omega, and International Journal of Production Research. Professor Song has received more than 30 teaching and research awards, including the First and Third Prizes for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements (Humanities and Social Sciences) awarded by the Ministry of Education of China, and the First Prize for Education and Teaching from the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of Management of Environmental Quality, Associate Editor of Energy Economics, and Executive Editor of Journal of Asian Economics.

Nawazish Mirza

Excelia Business School, La Rochelle, France

Dr. Nawazish Mirza is a Professor of Finance and the Director of the Agility, Innovation, and Digitization (AID) research axis at Excelia Business School, France. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Risk Finance (Q1 WOS) and the Review of Accounting and Finance (Q1 WOS), as well as Co-Editor for Economic Research (Q1 Scopus). With over two decades of experience in academia and consulting across four continents, Dr. Mirza specializes in Blue Economies, Sustainable Finance, Financial Intermediation, and Financial Risk Management. His recent research has been featured in journals such as Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, International Review of Economics and Finance, Annals of Operations Research, and the Journal of Environmental Management. Dr. Mirza was recognized for his impactful contributions and was included in Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers list for 2023. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Mirza held senior roles in investment banking, asset management, and credit ratings. He frequently contributes to prominent media outlets, including Bloomberg, CNBC, and China Daily, and is a Fellow Member of the Association of International Accountants (UK).

Eleftherios Ioannis Thalassinos

University of Piraeus, Greece

Thalassinos Eleftherios, PhD (UIC, Chicago, USA, 1983), DHC Degrees in Economics (Danubius University of Galati, Romania, 2013; University of Craiova, Romania, 2015; and Rostov State University of Economics, Russia, 2018), MBA, (De-Paul U Chicago, USA, 1979), BA, (U of Athens, Greece, 1976), is a Jean Monnet Chair Professor experienced in European Economic Integration and International Finance. He is the Editor-in-Chief of ERSJ, IJEBA, and IJFIRM, President of the International Strategic Management Association and Chair of ICABE. His professional experience includes quantitative analysis, technical and financial analysis, banking, business consulting, project evaluations, international business, international finance, and maritime economics. He has a long track of publications in several journals, collective volumes, and chapter books. Parallel to his academic career, he has performed as Bank Director for 12 years, Ministerial Advisor for 6 years, Public Servant for 4 years, and independent consultant for a long time.

Dimitrios Maditinos

Democritus University of Thrace, Greece

Professor Dimitrios Maditinos holds a degree with specialization in Business Administration and Informatics from Lund University in Sweden and a PhD degree in Finance and Financial Modelling from Greenwich University in London, UK. Since March 2024, Dimitrios serves as professor of Business Administration and Informatics at Democritus University of Thrace in Greece. Formerly, starting in 1985, he went through all the academic levels working at Technological Educational Institute of Kavala, then at Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology and until March 2024 at International Hellenic University. Moreover, Dimitrios has been elected and served as Head of the Business Administration department, as Vice rector and until August 2024 he served as a Dean of the School Management Science and Accounting of Democritus University of Thrace, in Greece. His research interests are in Financial Modelling, Performance Measurement, Investors Behavior, Digital Finance, Innovation, Research methods and Business Digitalization, with 5 books, 67 papers published in International Scientific Journals and more than 120 papers presented in international conferences.

Liliana Harding

University of East Anglia, UK

Liliana Harding is associate professor in economics at the University of East Anglia. She is the editor of the Norwich Economic Publications and co-ordinates the study abroad programme in the UEA School of Economics.  She is an associate of the UK Economics Network, and ECREB at the West University of Timisoara.  
Her main research interest lies in the economics of migration and economic education.  Her recent work has focussed on the dynamics of unemployment in an open economy, including migration and temporary work arrangements.  She has previously investigated the economic value of public art, emphasising the link between wellbeing and cultural goods.
Her current projects into economic education question the role of collaborative learning to address global issues and explore the attainment and participation gaps in economics for the UK and Japan.

Tomasz Dorożyński

University of Lodz, Poland

Prof. Tomasz Dorożyński, Ph.D. Head of the Institute of Economics, works in the Department of International Economics, University of Lodz (Poland). He is a member of several organizations of researchers in international economics and international business, such as AIB (AIB-CEE), EIBA, & EAMSA (Board & Advisory Committee Member). His research achievements include more than 120 peer-reviewed publications. His research focuses, inter alia, on internationalization, FDI, investment attractiveness, governance quality, entrepreneurship, special economic zones, and regional development. He is a member of the Management Geography Research Group, a member and co-founder of the Chambers of Commerce International Research Group, a visiting scholar at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, a visiting professor at Nihon University in Tokyo (2024) and at Ritsumeikan University, Osaka Ibaraki Campus (2025). He lectured extensively abroad (e.g. in Japan, Italy, France, Portugal, Malta, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Romania, Hungary & Slovakia) and conducted several research stays (e.g. in the Republic of Korea and Japan).

Simon Grima

University of Malta, Malta

Simon Grima is the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy, Professor and the Head of the Department of Insurance and Risk Management which he set up in 2015 and started and coordinates the MA and MSc Insurance and Risk Management degrees together with the undergrad degree in Insurance. He is also a Professor at the University of Latvia, Faculty of Business, Management and Economics and a Visiting Professor at UNICATT Milan. He served as the President of the Malta Association of Risk Management and President of the Malta Association of Compliance Officers between 2013 and 2015, and between 2016 and 2018 respectively. Moreover, he is the Chairman of the Scientific Education Committee of the Public Risk Management Organization. His research focus is on governance, regulations and internal controls and has over 30 years of experience varied between financial services, academia and public entities. He has been awarded outstanding reviewer for Journal of Financial Regulation and Compliance in 2017 and 2022 Emerald Literati Awards. Moreover, he acts as an independent Director for financial services firms, sits on risk, compliance, procurement, investment and audit committees and carries out duties as a compliance officer, internal auditor and risk manager.

Jibonayan Raychaudhuri

University of East Anglia, UK

Jibonayan is an Associate Professor in International Economics at UEA. He obtained his MA (in Economics and in Mathematical Behavioural Sciences) and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine in 2009. He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher with the Environmental and Resource Economics group at the University of Manchester, where he was  a research affiliate with the Sustainable Consumption Institute. Before joining UEA, he was a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Essex, Colchester.
Jibonayan’s research interests are in international trade, development economics and environmental economics.

Kinga Flaga – Gieruszyńska

Vice-Rector of Organization of the University of Szczecin, Poland

Kinga Flaga-Gieruszyńska is Vice-Rector of Organization and a Professor at the University of Szczecin, Poland. She is also Head of the Interdisciplinary Research Team of Civil Procedural Law, Medical Law and New Technologies at the Faculty of Law and Administration. In addition, Kinga is legal counsel, Vice-Chair of the Codification Committee of Family Law at the Minister of Justice, member of the Scientific Council of the National Academic Computer Network, member of the Scientific Council of the Scientific and Training Centre at the National Council of Judicial Officers, member of the Scientific Council of the Polish Institute of Notaries, President of the Arbitration Court in Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship in Szczecin, arbitrator at the Permanent Consumer Arbitration Court operating at the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship Inspector of Trade Inspection in Szczecin.
In her academic work, she deals with civil procedural law, arbitration and mediation, bankruptcy and restructuring law, medical law and new technology law, particularly concerning applications in the administration of justice.

Małgorzata Tarczyńska-Łuniewska

University of Szczecin, Poland

Dr hab. Małgorzata Tarczyńska-Łuniewska is a Professor US at the Department of Econometrics and Statistics, Institute of Economy and Finance, University of Szczecin, Poland. She specializes in quantitative methods, including multivariate methods, capital markets, finance, economic and financial analysis and is the author of more than 100 scientific publications in the field of financial management and applications of quantitative methods in finance and economics. Since 2025, she has served as a representative of the Institute of Economics and Finance of the University of Szczecin for international cooperation. Since 2005, she has served as Coordinator of the Stock Exchange School in Szczecin. She has served as an expert in the Commission for the Evaluation of Scientific Units (2016-2017 and 2018-2022) and is a member of the Commission for the Evaluation of Science at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (term 2024-2027). She is head of the MEiN project “Assessment of the impact of metrology on the economy in Poland” (2022-2024) and of many other national and international projects. Prof. Tarczyńska-Łuniewska is also the theme editor of the journal “Statistical News. The Polish Statistician” and a member of the Polish Statistical Society, CESTiRA or ASA, among others.

Inna Romānova

University of Latvia

Inna Romānova is a Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Latvia, the Director of the Scientific Institute of Economics and Management, and the Director of the professional master’s degree program in Financial Economics. She is an Economics and Management Sciences expert at the Latvian Academy of Sciences. She has more than fifteen years of academic experience in Latvia and abroad and is a visiting professor at several European universities. She also has professional experience in banking and finance, both in Latvia and Germany. Her research focuses on Financial Technologies, Financial and Risk Management.

Dominik Antoni Rozkrut

International Association for Official Statistics, Poland

Dominik Rozkrut is the President of the International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS) and Vice-President of the Polish Statistical Association. Rozkrut holds a Ph.D. in statistics and econometrics from the University of Szczecin. He has also held visiting positions at the University of Massachusetts, Lappeenranta University of Technology, UNU-MERIT, Kyung Hee University, and Jeju National University. He has been involved in various aspects of official statistics since 2007, initially as the Director of the Regional Statistical Office. From 2016 to 2024, Rozkrut served as the President of Statistics Poland. He has also served on several international committees, including those at the OECD, UNECE, and the UN. Dominik Rozkrut has extensive academic experience, having served as an adjunct professor at the University of Szczecin since 2003. His expertise includes statistics, econometrics, data science, measuring scientific and technological activities, and public sector performance management.
